Adult and Children Benefit From Flouride

The Benefits of Flouride - from your local dentist.
There are many benefits for flouride in children and in adults. In kids, it strengthens the permanent teeth that are growing. For strong decay-resistant teeth it is vital. In preventing tooth decay flouride is one of the most effective forms. The most effective way to get fluoride is by drinking water containing the right amount of the mineral. Flouride in adults helps with sensitivity. It is good for exposed root surfaces, which are more susceptible to decay. Flouride prevents recurrent cavities around fillings and crowns. Contact your local dentist about taking flouride. A great recommendation is Dr Bruce Sexton, a cosmetic dentist in Michigan.

Im missing a tooth - what can I do?
You can replace a missing tooth or missing teeth with a dental implant or implants or a dental bridge. Your smile can be fully restored to its original state. A bridge can be used while using the neighboring teeth as the support structure while a porcelain restoration will replace the vacant space. Dental implants are a viable option as well. Dental implants are posted directly into the jawbone. Once the post has bonded to the bone, it can act as a new, solid support for a natural looking, porcelain restoration. For more questions about dental implants or dental bridges contact Brevard County Dentist - Dr Glen LoSasso.

Get them cleaned

Have  you considered seeing a dentist in Wayne New Jersey? I don’t live there but I usually don’t like to go to the dentist any dentist. I know they are going to find something wrong or recommend something that’s going to hurt. What do you think? Do you like going to the dentist? Is it worth it?

The benefits of seeing a local dentist is to take care of your teeth - thats easy to understand. I dont want my teeth to be like some.  Its not easy to forget about someones smile with messed up teeth. Even stained teeth aren’t pleasant to look at. I read somewhere that even caffeine tarnishes your teeth. There are plenty of tooth whitening products out there to help. Have you used any? There are at home products and in office products. Ive used Ultradent before - I really liked it. It hurt my teeth and gums a bit and my teeth were sensitive for a couple of days but they looked great. Smile!  And if your teeth are really messed up you can opt for a nice pair of porcelain veneers. I have a girlfriend that has those and they are nice. Expensive but nice. My recommendation is to go see the dentist, clean your teeth and if you need it have some dental work done.

Teeth Whitening Procedures - In Office and At Home Explained by Ft Worth Dentist

You may be happy with the alignment and spacing of your teeth but years of coffee drinking, smoking or eating dark, juicy foods have left stains. Tooth whitening may be all that stands between you and a dazzling smile. Your cosmetic dentist will suggest one of several tooth-whitening techniques, depending on factors like your desired results, the time you can devote to the process and the cost of the procedure. In Office Teeth Whitening - Zoom! Advanced Power Zoom! whitening is a revolutionary new procedure that will give you brighter, whiter teeth in a single office visit. Zoom! whitening involves the application of a proprietary gel that, when exposed to a specialized light source, breaks down the stains on your teeth, leaving you with a beautiful smile. Most Zoom! whitening treatments take no more than an hour or so. In most dental offices you will be comforted with a warm blanket, relaxing eye mask, soothing music, and aromatherapy candle. You can also watch a movie if you so desire. At the end of whitening procedure, you will also be pampered by special formulated vitamin E enriched lip balm and a warm face towel to make your whitening experience a truly special one.

At Home You may choose to have your cosmetic dentist customize a home whitening treatment for you. Your dentist will mold a small tray for your mouth and prescribe a whitening gel that is placed into the tray and pressed into position around your teeth. Youll be instructed to wear the tray for several hours per day, or overnight, for up to four weeks. By the conclusion of your treatment, you will see a brighter, more youthful-looking smile.

For the ultimate teeth whitening experience, some dentists recommend the combination of Zoom Advanced Power whitening and at-home whitening. The Zoom Advanced Power whitening jump-starts the whitening program and the whitening is maintained by following up with the take home treatment. In this fashion, fading is eliminated and you can have sparkling white teeth for a lifetime. Consider plastic surgery to go hand in hand with your cosmetic dentistry procedure.

Dental Procedures to Help Your Smile

You deserve the most modern dental care available. The field of dentistry is constantly experiencing change and improvement. New technology, materials, and methodology are continually being developed.

The appearance of your smile goes hand-in-hand with your oral health. Most cosmetic dental practices apply the newest treatments and technology to solve problems like crooked teeth, gaps in teeth, gummy smile, and tooth discoloration. If the look of your teeth has deteriorated due to injury, excessive wear, or bad habits, Restorative Dentistry can heal your smile.

Dental Implants use titanium “fixtures” placed in the bone and bonded (adhered) to replace missing teeth or to stabilize prosthetics (dentures). These are often used instead of bridges to help maintain the original tooth structure of the healthy teeth on either side of the missing tooth.

Porcelain Veneers are bonded to misaligned, damaged, or discolored teeth to improve their appearance. Veneers are custom-made by one of our technicians using a model of your teeth, and permanently affixed to the front of the tooth to enhance your smile.

You may want to consider tooth whitening as well.

Tooth colored fillings vs amalgram fillings

Composite resins, or tooth colored fillings are a mixture of microscopic ceramic particles dispersed in a plastic resin that can be bonded to teeth. This material comes in a wide range of shades and can be molded and sculpted to create almost any shape or contour. Composite resins bond to teeth  forming a seal to reduce leakage, which is common with dark, metal fillings. For years, an amalgam of silver and mercury metal was the predominant filling material.  Amalgams are still offered in many offices, but we have chosen to refrain from the use of this metal for numerous reasons.  Amalgam use has been extremely restricted in other civilized countries due to the mercury content.  Amalgam fillings require more tooth removal for adequate retention.  And, amalgam fillings are less estheti  Tooth-colored restorations are superior for esthetics and tooth preservation.

How to treat bad breath

Millions of people struggle with halitosis, or bad breath, despite daily teeth brushing. Here is a checklist of procedures that can eliminate the problem: twice daily brushing, daily flossing and tongue cleaning; regular professional cleanings and careful cleaning of any dentures or removable dental appliances. However, if your hygiene is meticulous and the problem persists, there are several solutions.

First, your dentist can provide a plastic tool called a tongue scraper that cleans away bacterial build-up on your tongue and significantly alleviates odor. Or your dentist can recommend a specially prepared rinse or toothpaste designed to actually break the odor-causing sulfur bonds that cause bad breath. Finally, there might be a systemic or internal problem such as an infection or underlying condition, in which case you may want to visit with your family physician or specialist to identify the cause.
