Dental Implants - Permanent, Secure Tooth Replacements

While 10-percent of Americans who need dentures can’t wear them, 40-percent of partial-denture patients don’t wear them. Missing teeth cause loss of bone and muscle in the face, which dramatically reduces your ability to chew. Lost bone and facial muscle tone not only affect function, they make you look and feel older. When permanent teeth are lost, regardless of the reason or number of teeth, dental implants can offer a new lease on life. They are superior to other choices because they are solid, secure and aesthetic. After nearly 35 years of use, they have a 90-95% proven success rate in appropriately chosen cases. A dental implant is a special, surgical grade titanium post, manufactured to highly precise specifications. Under strict sterile conditions, it is inserted surgically into the jawbone below the gum surface. With proper use of the newest anesthetics and medications you need not be concerned about pain. As the bone bonds to the post, it forms a secure foundation onto which your new teeth are then attached and shaped to match your mouth. The number of teeth being replaced will determine the best kind of restoration for you. Implants can help replace a single tooth or a full set of teeth. If you have been suffering with partial or full dentures, are missing teeth, or feel you need teeth extracted, do not hesitate to call to be evaluated for dental implants.

Tooth Colored Fillings

When the decay has been taken out of the tooth, it is replaced with “filling” material. In the past, amalgam (silver) fillings were placed into the cleaned out portion of the tooth. With advancements in dentistry, you can now have tooth-colored fillings instead of silver fillings. You may even elect to remove your old silver fillings in favor of new, undetectable tooth-colored fillings.

Bonding

Bonding is a tooth-colored material applied and adhered to the surface of the tooth, often without reducing the structure of the tooth. The bonding material is sculpted by your cosmetic dentist so that it resembles a natural tooth, correcting chips, broken, stained or discolored teeth and in some cases correcting gaps. It is less of an investment than veneers but doesn’t last as long and can stain over time.

Porcelain Veneers - Cosmetic Dentistry Procedure

Most smile makeovers you see on television are created using porcelain veneers. Porcelain veneers are thin strips of porcelain custom designed to fit on the front of your tooth. Veneers are made to resemble real teeth in size, shape and color and are bonded to misaligned, damaged or discolored teeth to improve their appearance. They can make a dramatic change in the appearance of your smile.

Your smile is a sign of your happiness and confidence to people around you. If your smile is not what you wish it could be, a cosmetic dentists can help you change your life through cosmetic dentistry. A more youthful, brighter-looking smile may only be a visit away.
